Overview:
Our client, a leading healthcare consulting organization that is expanding its Clinical Research / Clinical Trials finance team. We are seeking experienced professionals with a combination of traditional FP&A budgeting and forecasting experience and direct clinical trial / clinical research budgeting experience. This is not a traditional corporate FP&A position. The successful candidate must understand the financial and administrative components of clinical research and have direct experience developing and reviewing clinical trial budgets.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop, review, and maintain budgets and forecasts supporting clinical trials and clinical research programs
- Prepare and analyze clinical research study budgets, calendars, coverage analysis reports, charge segregation, and related trial documentation
- Review clinical trial protocols and translate study requirements into appropriate financial and budgeting considerations
- Support budgeting activities for industry-sponsored, federally sponsored, and investigator-sponsored research
- Perform financial analysis and reconciliation activities associated with clinical research programs
- Support Accounts Receivable and related financial activities connected to clinical trial administration
- Apply applicable clinical trial policies and research billing rules when evaluating coverage and financial responsibility
- Assist with coverage determinations and ensure appropriate segregation of research-related versus billable clinical charges
- Review work completed by junior-level research administration professionals and provide feedback as appropriate
- Communicate with internal and client stakeholders regarding study budgets, coverage analysis, financial issues, and project requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical trial budgeting, coverage analysis, and research administration processes
- Maintain awareness of evolving clinical research regulations, billing requirements, and industry practices
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of budgeting and forecasting experience 2+ years of direct experience budgeting for clinical trials and/or clinical research required
- Hands-on experience developing clinical research / clinical trial budgets required
- Experience with coverage analysis
- Understanding of Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and the financial lifecycle associated with clinical research
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifying experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsU.S. work authorization
- Highly Preferred
- Clinical trial budget development and negotiation
- Knowledge of Clinical Trials Policy and applicable research billing rules
- Experience applying research billing policies to clinical trial protocols for coverage determination
- Quality Assurance review experience within clinical research administration
- Medical coding, medical billing, or Health Information Management experience
- Experience training, mentoring, or reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Experience identifying process improvements within clinical trial budgeting or coverage analysis
- Experience with Encore, Velos, Epic Research, and/or Oracle Clinical
