Job Description Job DescriptionDescription:The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company. Duties/Responsibilities: Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments. Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces. Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data. Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water. Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems. Inspects pool and equipment. Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools. Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment. Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of related experience required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time. Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping. Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.
