This role will work closely with financial and operational leadership to strengthen accounting processes, support business decisions, and develop the accounting team. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to balance detailed accounting work with broader business priorities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are accurate. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and company policies. Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, providing clear explanations of results and significant variances. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while coordinating workloads, reviewing work, and establishing priorities. Support budgeting and forecasting by providing historical results, analyzing trends, and partnering with department leaders. Monitor accounting activity across accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and other key areas. Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and documentation. Coordinate external audit requests, prepare supporting schedules, and help resolve audit findings. Collaborate with operations to understand business activity, resolve accounting discrepancies, and improve financial visibility. Assist with accounting system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting. Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated success leading accounting processes and reviewing the work of others. Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and internal controls. Manufacturing or healthcare industry experience preferred. Proficiency in Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and recommend solutions. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non-accounting colleagues. CPA designation or public accounting experience is a plus.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
