About the role
Title: Sr. Oncology Project Manager Duration of Contract: 6+ months with probability of extensionsASAP start Purpose: The Senior Project Manager, Oncology leads the planning, coordination, and execution of a portfolio of medical content and project deliverables across an assigned Therapeutic Area(s). This role ensures work is delivered on time and within agreed scope, while aligning to C3C strategic priorities, quality standards, and governance expectations. This role operates within an evolving, C3C’s AI-first, technology-enabled operating model where routine coordination activities are increasingly streamlined through automation and standardized workflows (e.g., intake validation, routing, scheduling, and status reporting). Accordingly, the TA Senior Project Manager concentrates on judgment-driven work that requires human oversight—scope and change control, risk and dependency management, kickoff readiness and stakeholder alignment, and end-to-end delivery accountability through project close-out.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Project Ownership, Scope & Delivery Own end-to-end delivery of projects within assigned oncology portfolio Define and align on clear project scope at kickoff, including in-scope and out-of-scope deliverables Maintain scope discipline throughout execution, managing change requests and assessing impact to timelines, capacity, and dependencies Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to C3C quality and governance standardsB. Kickoff Readiness & Planning Ensure projects are ready to initiate, including: Complete and approved brief Required source materials Stakeholder alignment Realistic timelines and resource plan Proactively identify and resolve gaps to minimize rework and delays Serve as the primary checkpoint to ensure strong project setup and clarity of requirementsC. Risk, Dependency & Escalation Management Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and approval pathways Provide forward-looking visibility to stakeholders on risks, decisions, and upcoming actions Proactively mitigate issues and escalate when tradeoffs or decisions are required to maintain delivery timelinesD. Stakeholder Partnership & Communication Serve as the primary operational partner to oncology stakeholders Communicate proactively and transparently on timelines, risks, status, and changes Build strong partnerships to enable efficient, predictable delivery while reinforcing standard processesE. System-of-Record & Execution Discipline Maintain accurate, real-time project data in Smartsheet as the system or record Ensure status, ownership, timelines, and workflow progression are consistently up to date Leverage AI-enabled dashboards and reporting as the primary source of project visibility Eliminate manual or duplicate tracking outside approved systemsF. Meeting Leadership & Decision Enablement Lead kickoff, weekly status, and planning meetings focused on: Decision-making Risk resolution Stakeholder alignment Capture and document decisions, actions, owners, and timelines and ensure they are reflected in the system of recordG. Resource & Close-Out Management Partner with Resource Management to ensure capacity and resource alignment throughout delivery Monitor and escalate resource constraints impacting timelines Ensure complete project close-out, including: Final deliverables Key decisions and changes Stakeholder feedback/surveys
Qualifications:
Required:• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Communications, Project Management, or related field.• 3–5 years of experience in project management within Medical Affairs, pharmaceutical operations, or content development.• Proficiency in Smartsheet, Veeva (or similar), Share Point, and Microsoft Office.• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
• Experience supporting medical content workflows, congress deliverables, or advisory boards.• PMP or related project management certification.
