Physical Requirements: Issue citations; work outside; operate a cash operations booth; address upset customers in courteous and professional manner; walk and stand for long periods of time; use of a two-way radio; operate a hand-held ticket writer; lift up to 20lbs; provide customer service; follow written and verbal directions; and provide instructions and directions.
Shift: Monday – Friday 40 hours/week; 1st Shift (7:00 am to 4:00 pm); and some weekends and holidays with occasional overtime.
Job Summary: The University of Kentucky is seeking a Parking Control Supervisor Assistant to join the Transportation Services team. Reporting to the Transportation Services Manager Assistant, this position provides leadership and operational support for designated parking enforcement and attendant booth operations. The Assistant Shift Leader plays a key role in ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining high customer service standards, supervising personnel, and supporting compliance with university and departmental policies and procedures.
What You'll Do:
  • Assist with the supervision and daily leadership of parking enforcement and attendant booth operations within assigned areas
  • Oversee daily cash handling activities, including collections, reconciliations, and accurate accounting of funds
  • Assign daily work responsibilities, maintain staffing coverage, and support efficient operational performance
  • Train, coach, and provide guidance to parking supervisors, attendants, and other assigned personnel
  • Review and approve timesheets, leave requests, and personnel documentation in accordance with university policies
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback regarding performance and development
  • Manage customer disputes and resolve escalated service concerns using sound judgment and effective communication
  • Represent the department at meetings, special events, and operational activities as directed
  • Monitor employee performance, operational activities, and compliance with departmental procedures
  • Assist with interviewing, evaluating, selecting, and developing employees while supporting corrective action and personnel processes as needed
  • Ensure proper use of parking enforcement technologies, parking control systems, credit card processing equipment, vehicle immobilization devices, and related operational equipment
