About Us:
Montessori Kids Universe (MKU) at St. Charles is an innovative early childhood education center dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children from infancy through kindergarten. Our curriculum combines Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Position Summary:
The Preschool Director will provide overall leadership for the center, overseeing operations, licensing compliance, enrollment growth, staff development, parent engagement, and school performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can successfully launch and grow a new center.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily school operations and staff management. Ensure compliance with all Illinois DCFS licensing requirements. Recruit, train, coach, and retain teachers and staff. Drive enrollment growth and conduct tours for prospective families. Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives. Maintain high educational and operational standards. Build strong relationships with families and community partners. Manage records, reporting, scheduling, and center administration.
Required Qualifications:
Must meet Illinois DCFS Director qualifications. Minimum 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Previous leadership experience in a preschool, daycare, or childcare center. Strong knowledge of licensing, compliance, and school operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Montessori experience or certification. Experience opening a new school or childcare center. Enrollment management and marketing experience. Strong community engagement background.
