Kforce has a client that is seeking a Thermal Control Systems Engineer in Spring, TX.
Summary:
The Thermal Control Systems Engineer serves as the technical bridge between thermal engineering and firmware development, ensuring thermal control strategies are accurately implemented, validated, and released in production systems. This role translates thermal requirements into firmware-ready specifications, supports controls development, and leads integration, testing, tuning, and issue resolution across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Translate thermal requirements, test data, and system behavior into firmware requirements, control logic, calibration data, and acceptance criteria* Collaborate with thermal, firmware, BIOS, CPLD, BMC, and hardware teams to define, implement, and validate thermal control solutions* Own thermal controls requirements, traceability, and supporting development artifacts throughout the product lifecycle* Develop and execute validation plans covering normal operation, fault conditions, performance limits, and recovery scenarios* Perform hands-on testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and control tuning to ensure compliance with thermal and system requirements* Investigate and resolve integration issues involving firmware, hardware, sensors, controls, and thermal performance* Coordinate development activities, validation schedules, release milestones, and field issue resolution* Support the development of tools, processes, and architectures used to define and manage server thermal control systems Requirements* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline* Experience in thermal engineering, controls integration, embedded systems, firmware validation, electronics cooling, or a similar field* Experience validating, tuning, or troubleshooting control algorithms on physical hardware* Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, sensors, actuators, and control systems* Knowledge of engineering and programming tools such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, or similar* Strong communication, technical documentation, and project coordination skills* Ability to interpret firmware logs, schematics, thermal data, and test results to solve complex cross-functional issues

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
