About the role
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
System Fabrication: Measure, cut, and fit up high-purity stainless steel sanitary tubing and piping systems for custom process skids.
Manifold Assembly: Assemble and fit up complex valve manifolds and process skids according to engineering drawings.
Tank Fitting: Position, align, and fit up process vessels, reactors, and tanks into skid systems.
Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and layout schematics.
Weld Preparation: Ensure precise fit-ups and beveling for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.
Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to hygienic design standards (e.g., 3-A, FDA, ASME BPE) to ensure crevice-free, contamination-resistant joints.
Qualifications
Experience:
2+ years of dedicated experience in sanitary process piping. Specialized Skills: Proven track record of fitting up complex valve manifolds and stainless steel process equipment.
Preferred:
Hands-on experience fitting up and aligning sanitary process tanks.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sanitary connections (Tri-Clamp, Bevel Seat), surface finish requirements, and passivation.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using sanitary pipe cutters, facing tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
Industry Focus: Direct background building process skids or modular systems for the food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spaces. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy pipe components (up to 50 lbs).Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment.
