Electrical Design Technician Career LevelPortland, Oregon, United StatesAbout the Job Electrical Design Technician Career LevelJob Description:As a BIM Designer, you will be engaged in the design documentation while being responsible for the set-up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members. Working under the direction of telecom discipline or project leads, this position provides an opportunity to showcase your Revit expertise while staying in accordance with client BIM standards.Using a mixture of the Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD software platforms, you will create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L) as well as create 2D construction drawings. This is all accomplished in coordination with other designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers who are all on the same design team.Using the design methods in conjunction with your keen eye for detail and established BIM skills, you will be part of our telecom design team working to turn the design intent of our senior telecom design staff into constructible deliverables, including clash-free 3D models.Bring your Revit knowledge, curiosity, talent for multitasking, collaboration, and extreme organizational skills, and we'll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you so we can make big impacts on the world together.Here's what you'll need:High school graduate or equivalentAt least 3 years of BIM design experienceAt least 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industryA growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisionsA growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their functionBasic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipmentExperience following client design and modeling standardsFamiliarity with Bluebeam or similar markup softwareEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requestsWillingness to learn new thingsIdeally, you'll also have:At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experienceUnderstanding of data center environmentsKnowledge and design experience with paging, intercom and audio-visual systemsKnowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)Knowledge of control systems, network components and topology
