The Opportunity: This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You'll Work OnMaintenance of the plant's high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products Non-repetitive mechanical repairs and troubleshooting Mechanical fluid and utility system troubleshooting Fabrication, machining and welding Installation or rearrangement of equipment Completion of work documentation You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GEDUnderstanding of mechanical systems
  • Mechanical and spatial aptitude
  • Good math and writing skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems as well as proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Welding certification preferred
  • Backflow prevention certification preferred
  • The base pay for this position is $20.85 $41.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
