About the role
Shipping & Receiving We are seeking a UPS Clerk which is mainly a shipping and logistics support role focused on preparing outgoing orders and coordinating parcel shipments through UPS and FedEx systems.
Duties:
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications/guidelines for parcel shipments.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against packing list, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage as necessary in database.
- Maintain, update, and process orders for shipment by assigning orders, printing pick list, and placing UPS/FedEX labels on each box per order.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed boxes for appropriate parcel service required for use.
- Scope of Responsibility:
- This job will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes and product costs.
- This job follows standard practices and procedures, and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.
Qualifications: Language Ability:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Math Ability:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
