Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations at a large coal-fired power generation facility. As a key leader within the plant, you'll oversee shift operations, mentor and develop operators, and work closely with maintenance, environmental, and system control teams to maximize unit reliability and performance. In the absence of senior plant leadership, you'll provide oversight of plant operations and serve as the primary decision-maker on shift.

Supervise and support plant operators, including task assignment, performance management, training, and employee development. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is available, properly operated, and prepared for outages and repairs. Monitor plant equipment performance, identify operational issues, and take corrective action to maintain safe and efficient operations. Partner with Electric System Control to manage unit outages and maintain electrical system reliability. Oversee fuel and coal handling operations to ensure continuous and dependable unit performance. Support environmental compliance efforts and ensure adherence to all safety, operational, and regulatory requirements. Foster a positive team culture through coaching, communication, accountability, and leadership.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
