About the role

Our client, a financial services firm in New York, is hiring an AVP to safeguard the integrity of financial results as Finance brings automation and AI into its processes.
Responsibilities: Own the key reconciliations that support Finance. Lead root-cause work on variances and keep Finance leadership informed promptly. Check system results, automation outputs and AI-supported calculations, signing off on accuracy and completeness before anything is used downstream. Carry out financial controls and document them, keeping evidence audit-ready at all times. Log exceptions, drive remediation and raise issues with Finance leadership when needed. Be the go-to contact on audit and compliance questions across finance transformation work. Work alongside internal audit and external auditors to deliver timely, complete responses, and spot audit risk created by process or technology change. Help cross-functional partners on automation and AI projects understand the accounting and control requirements involved.
Requirements: Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or a related discipline. 5+ years in accounting, finance or controls-focused roles. Strong knowledge of financial accounting. Proven experience running financial controls, managing reconciliations and putting together audit evidence. Sound accounting judgment when critically reviewing automated and AI-produced financial results. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders.
Nice to have: A professional qualification in accounting, or equivalent. Background in Controllership or other Finance functions. Working knowledge of Oracle, Essbase or Tableau. Experience helping with internal or external audits.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
