About the role

Copywriter Position We are seeking an organized, upbeat, and professional Copywriter to help promote our Writing School's classes through strategic marketing emails, social media posts, website copy, and creative content development. You will work closely with members of our team to compose copy that maintains the company's existing tone and messaging guidelines, while developing creative ways to expand our audience and digital presence. The ideal candidate will be able to implement new marketing strategies based on these insights. Candidates with a background in creative writing (fiction, screenplays, essays, etc.) preferred, since these are the types of classes we promote. Pay is $40-$50 per hour plus free classes, depending on experience. 10-20 hours per week.
Main responsibilities include: conceiving, planning, and executing email marketing campaigns; testing email marketing campaigns for deliverability; creating copy for social media posts; and creating copy for the website. To apply, email jobs@writingpad.com and include a copy of your resume and cover letter in the body of the email and a link to your portfolio as well as attach a PDF of both the resume and cover letter. Candidates without a year of professional copywriting experience and interest in creative writing should not apply. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
