About the role
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing onboard Wi-Fi and network infrastructure.
- Handling network authentication, where passengers gain internet access by validating details such as their airline ticket or flight information.
- Managing internet access, bandwidth allocation, and connectivity for all passengers onboard.
- Supporting services such as web browsing, messaging, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, and premium content streaming.
- Working on the middleware layer, which sits between applications and the underlying network infrastructure.
- Managing network-related applications, authentication services, and data traffic across the aircraft network.
- Working with technologies such as VLAN, WLAN, IP-based networking, and network protocols.
- Developing and supporting solutions on Embedded Linux platforms.
- Ensuring reliable connectivity between onboard systems and external internet services.
- The ideal candidate should have experience with:
- Embedded Linux
- Middleware development
- Networking fundamentalsIP protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, etc.)WLAN/Wi-Fi technologies
- Network authentication and connectivity management
