Staff Accountant – Portfolio Accounting
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports a multi-entity accounting environment through accurate general ledger accounting, timely financial reporting, and disciplined account reconciliation. This position serves as the dedicated accounting owner for an assigned group of third-party managed properties and related entities, handling the associated bookkeeping, owner reporting, work order billing, and administration of company credit card programs. The role also supports department-wide month-end close.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and assigned owner reporting Perform general ledger accounting, journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities Manage bookkeeping and financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of third-party properties and other entities Administer work order billing and related accounting processes Administer company credit card programs, including transaction review, coding, documentation, reconciliation, and reporting Maintain accurate accounting records and reporting within the company's property accounting platform Support audit, tax, process improvement, and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Three or more years of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation experience Strong reconciliation, analytical, and month-end close skills Strong Excel skills and the ability to work accurately across multiple entities and recurring deadlines Property management, real estate, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred Experience with a property management accounting platform (Yardi, Real Page, or similar) preferred Quick Books experience is a significant plus
