Role Description: The Logistics Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role located in Newark, NJ, responsible for planning and overseeing daily container movements and freight operations. This position coordinates shipments, monitors delivery schedules, and works closely with carriers, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure on-time performance and accurate documentation. The role includes managing inventory status related to container flows, updating internal systems, and resolving exceptions or delays in transit. The Logistics Coordinator responds to customer inquiries, provides shipment updates, and supports issue resolution to maintain a high level of service. The role also involves generating reports, analyzing logistical data, and collaborating with supervisors to improve processes and efficiency.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for tracking shipments, reviewing data, and identifying process improvements. Candidates should possess effective Communication abilities to interact with customers, carriers, and internal teams. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to handle inquiries, manage expectations, and resolve logistics issues professionally. Candidates should possess Inventory Management capabilities to maintain accurate records of containers, shipments, and related materials. Candidates should possess Supply Chain Management knowledge to understand end-to-end logistics workflows and support efficient operations. Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency with logistics or warehouse management systems, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse coordination is preferred, along with a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field is an advantage.
