Mechanical Project Manager – 400MW Data Center Campus | Chicago, IL (Onsite) | Up to $350,000 Total Package On a data center, cooling is mission-critical. On a 400MW campus, the mechanical scope is one of the largest and most complex packages on the job, and this one needs a proven leader to own it. An established General Contractor with 600+ employees is delivering one of the biggest data center developments in the Chicago area. They're hiring a Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical delivery across a multi-phase build. What you'll be responsible for You'll be the senior mechanical lead on site, reporting into the Project Director and working closely with the client, design consultants and major trade partners. You'll: Own the mechanical scope from preconstruction through installation, commissioning and turnover Lead the major mechanical subcontractors on the project and hold them to account Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, structural and architectural packages Review designs, drawings, specifications and technical submittals Drive schedule, procurement, quality and cost across the mechanical package Manage RFIs, change orders and design coordination to keep the job moving Work hand in hand with commissioning teams to deliver systems that perform on day one Provide technical direction and leadership to the wider project team
What you'll need: GC or Construction Manager experience (essential)At least one significant data center project delivered (essential)A strong track record in mechanical project management on large-scale construction Experience managing large mechanical subcontractors and complex MEP interfacesA solid understanding of mission-critical cooling and mechanical systems
