Production TechnicianINEOS Joliet is a leading producer of chemical intermediates. At our site in Channahon, Illinois (about 40 miles southwest of Chicago) we produce three products - Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA), Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA) and Maleic Anhydride (MAN).INEOS Joliet is part of the INEOS Enterprises portfolio. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for the safe, clean, and reliable operation of assigned area to achieve the site's vision. Responsibilities And Accountabilities Own training progression to become fully qualified in all sections of assigned Perform required process adjustments, sampling, housekeeping, and surveillance rounds to monitor condition of equipment in assigned area(s) Ensure equipment repair preparation and post-work commissioning is performed following current policies and Flawlessly execute Safe Work Practices (Energy Control, Blinding, Safe Work Permitting, etc.)Perform preventative maintenance, monitoring and incidental maintenance activities as required. Review, provide feedback and execute unit and equipment start-up and shut-down procedures and Lead and assist in development of plans for equipment isolation, turnarounds, shutdowns, and other special projects. Respond to call Continually improve knowledge of area and equipment after fully qualified in assigned area and continuously strive to further develop capabilities. Skills & Knowledge Required Education/Experience At least 3 years' experience in a Chemical, Refinery or Manufacturing Facility OR at least 1-year experience in an INEOSPetrochemical operator certification program completion preferred. Skills/Competencies Self-motivated, and enjoy working in a team Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment toPhysical Requirements: Must possess the ability to work a rotating 12 hour (4) day shift with occasional overtime (10-15%)While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work around and on industrial equipment. including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
Minimum requirements include:
- Ability to work in various types of weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders (+100ft), stairways, vessels, towers, and pipe racks, many involving considerable heights.
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other
- Ability to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots, respirator and hearing protection).This role is subject to the Transportations Workers Identification.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Credentialing rule or "TWIC" and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
