Job Description: The Mechanical Insulator Journeyman plays a critical role in installing insulation materials in industrial facilities and commercial buildings. Working as part of a small crew, the journeyman ensures that pipe wrapping and other insulation tasks meet quality and safety standards. This position demands expertise in various insulation types including fiberglass, mineral wool, and foam insulation, along with a strong focus on teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities: Install insulation materials on pipes and mechanical systems Wrap pipes using various insulation types such as fiberglass, mineral wool, and foam Maintain strict compliance with safety standards and protocols Handle and manage insulation materials and related equipment efficiently Read and interpret blueprints to plan insulation layouts Prepare job sites to ensure proper insulation installation Perform quality assurance checks to ensure installation meets specifications Collaborate effectively within a small crew to complete projects on schedule
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years experience in mechanical insulation High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of thermal insulation techniques Ability to interpret blueprints accurately Understanding of safety protocols and procedures Proficient with hand and power tools Physical stamina to perform manual labor Strong attention to detail Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills
