About the role
Oracle Database Developer Optomi, in partnership with a a large global company best known for its paints, coatings, and related products, is seeking an Oracle Database Developer for their Clevland, OH location. Candidates must have strong hands-on PL/SQL development experience with a thorough understanding of Oracle database development, including packages, procedures, functions, and database changes. This Senior PL/SQL Developer will have experience working with UNIX/Linux, system-to-system integrations, data translations, and ETL processes, and will be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have approximately 6–10 years of relevant experience and exposure to Oracle 19c or other current Oracle environments. This developer will join a Cleveland, OH-based team, working onsite five days per week within a structured Agile sprint environment to support ongoing database development, system integrations, and enhancement. Taking ownership of complex database development and system-to-system integration projects. Solving challenging data, ETL, and performance issues in a large enterprise environment. Working independently and having the autonomy to own development tasks from start to finish. Collaborating with experienced developers and technical leads within a structured Agile sprint environment. Working with Oracle 19c and current Oracle technologies, with exposure to future database modernization and upgrades. Create and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for data retrieval, processing, and reporting. Support ETL processes for loading, transforming, and validating data. Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and batch processing. Troubleshoot and resolve database, ETL, and data quality issues. Perform query and application performance tuning. Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and production support activities. Maintain technical documentation and adhere to development standards. Support ongoing enhancements and maintenance of existing database applications and processes.
