Child Nutrition Part TimeUnder the general direction of the Director of Child Nutrition and the daily guidance of the Child Nutrition Manager, this role performs a variety of duties to assist in the set up and serving of food, cleaning, and sanitation of the child nutrition operation. This associate is expected to learn, train, and backup other areas and assignments within the kitchen with increased experience and as delegated by the Child Nutrition Manager. Essential functions include fostering a collaborative team environment, promoting positive interactions and communication, instructing and monitoring kitchen personnel, maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, preparing and overseeing meal production, implementing budgetary and inventory controls, ensuring all served food meets premium quality standards, facilitating efficient and timely meal service, rotating through all kitchen positions, maintaining accurate records, communicating quality control issues, obtaining and maintaining required professional credentials, collaborating on marketing initiatives, participating in staff meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years of age, one year of experience in food service or school nutrition programs, continued employment contingent upon maintaining required licenses and certificates, successful completion of job specific training, knowledge of food production and operations, and skills in communication, customer relations, and situational awareness. Physical and mental requirements include standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 40 pounds, manual dexterity, maintaining focus and composure under time constraints, and preventing workplace accidents. The working environment involves exposure to high heat, steam, humidity, cold, kitchen hazards, noise, and regular interaction with students, faculty, and co-workers.
