Senior Agile Systems Analyst – Remote Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12-month contract to start with strong potential for conversion
Our client, a global leader in claims and risk management solutions, is seeking a Senior Technical Agile Systems Analyst for a remote, long-term contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and possible conversion. This role is ideal for a Technical Systems Analyst with strong Business Analysis and Project Management capabilities who can work across multiple technology initiatives, partner with business and technical stakeholders, and help drive projects from requirements through delivery. The right candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects. The team supports a variety of enterprise technology initiatives that may include HR interfaces, standard flat-file integrations, benefit calculations, statutory/regulatory requirements, reverse file feeds, APIs, system integrations, and other business-critical applications and processes. A strong understanding of Agile delivery, requirements analysis, systems analysis, and software development processes is important. Prior experience supporting an Agile transformation is a significant plus, and experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) is preferred. The ideal candidate can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, translate complex requirements into actionable work for development teams, facilitate collaboration across stakeholders, and take ownership of project-level activities when needed.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Product Owners, Project Managers, and technical/development teams. Support multiple technology projects and initiatives, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Gather, analyze, document, and translate business and technical requirements into actionable solutions. Perform detailed systems analysis, including understanding system functionality, integrations, interfaces, data flows, and downstream impacts. Write clear and detailed user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and technical documentation. Partner with development and QA teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Support projects involving HR interfaces, flat files, benefit calculations, statutory/regulatory requirements, reverse file feeds, APIs, and system integrations. Facilitate requirements sessions, stakeholder meetings, backlog refinement, working sessions, and other Agile ceremonies. Help manage and prioritize backlogs, project deliverables, requirements, and dependencies. Perform business process analysis, workflow mapping, gap analysis, impact assessments, and root cause analysis. Identify potential risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities for process or system improvement. Translate technical concepts and system constraints for business stakeholders and communicate business needs effectively to technical teams. Support sprint planning, release planning, testing, and implementation activities. Participate in and/or coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including requirements clarification, defect resolution, and business signoff. Create and maintain process documentation, system documentation, workflow diagrams, and other project deliverables. Assist with project planning, status tracking, stakeholder communication, and coordination of deliverables when project management support is needed. Support change management, release activities, and stakeholder readiness as appropriate. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and Agile transformation efforts.
Required Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Technical Analysis, or a related role supporting software development and technology initiatives. Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business and technical requirements. Proven experience working with software development teams throughout the SDLC.Experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and technical specifications. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile delivery environments. Demonstrated ability to analyze systems, processes, integrations, data flows, and business requirements. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting or participating in an Agile transformation initiative. Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).Experience serving in a role that combines Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, and/or Project Management responsibilities. Experience working with APIs, system integrations, databases, interfaces, flat files, and data flows. Basic SQL skills for data querying, validation, and analysis. Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, Smartsheet, or similar Agile/project management/documentation tools. Experience supporting UAT, release planning, implementation, or change management. Experience with benefit calculations, HR systems/interfaces, regulatory or statutory requirements, or similar enterprise business processes. Insurance, claims, workers' compensation, benefits, absence management, or TPA industry experience is a plus but not required. Experience with Agile transformation, process improvement, or enterprise technology modernization initiatives.
