About the role
Job Description:
The Level 3 Quality Control Inspector is a senior-level position responsible for the most technically demanding inspection work performed at CEI, including full surface plate layouts, new product introduction, and advanced CMM programming. This role serves as a senior technical resource on the inspection floor, resolves complex inspection problems independently, and mentors Level 1 and Level 2 Inspectors within an AS9100-certified quality system. Advancement to Level 3 is qualified by portfolio review of demonstrated work.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct full surface plate layouts, including castings and complex geometries
Perform inspections using the air bearing table inspection gauge
Conduct NPI first article, in-process, and final inspection
Resolve first article and setup problems in direct partnership with setup and machining personnel
Coordinate with engineering to develop inspection plans and CMM programs
Lead and complete PPAP submissions
Evaluate nonconforming material and recommend disposition for MRB review
Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 Inspectors
Specialize in one or more designated areas: Technical Trainer, Documentation for All CEI Customers, CMM Programmer, or Contract Review
Complete inspection and quality records accurately and in accordance with AS9100 standards
Work safely in a precision manufacturing environment
