About the role
Job Description: Skilled office work in managing the Barnstable Adult Community Center's telephone system, front office functions, program registrations, and assisting the general public; routine clerical work; all other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma; two years experience operating a telephone system; experience in a municipal setting and in dealing with the public preferred; or any Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to work with general public in a courteous and professional manner. Proficiency in typing, letter writing, and operation of above mentioned office equipment. Ability to deal tactfully and appropriately with the general public and town division operations and functions. Excellent typing and proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database input. Efficient skill in operating a switchboard telephone system.
