About the role
OT Network Engineer
Job Summary:
Support substation automation and modernization projects through SCADA, OT networking, RTU configuration, network architecture, and cybersecurity. Work with Protection & Controls, IT, field engineering, vendors, and contractors.
Responsibilities:
Design and troubleshoot SCADA/OT networks, RTUs, and substation communications. Support IP/MPLS, BGP, SD-WAN, and industrial Ethernet. Develop redundant, highly available utility network architectures. Configure Nova Tech Orion LX+ RTUs and DNP3 communications. Support NERC CIP, OT/IT segmentation, Zero Trust, and firewalls. Work with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Ruggedcom, Cisco IE, and ABB equipment. Support RS-232/485, T1, fiber optics, and legacy-to-IP migration. Support PTP and TSN time synchronization for substation automation. Create Visio network diagrams, IP documentation, and equipment records. Troubleshoot design vs. as-built discrepancies. Monitor networks using Solar Winds, Logic Monitor, Net Brain, and Splunk. Coordinate technical deliverables with engineering teams, vendors, and contractors.
