Data Technician
Location: Hageman Education Center - SalinaThe purpose of the job of Data Technician at CKCIE is to provide administrative and secretarial support to the CKCIE Director, to ensure compliance of CKCIE records with financial, legal and administrative requirements and to monitor assigned projects and/or program components. The data technician also provides technical assistance to CKCIE staff collecting and entering student data, to provide timely and accurate information to CKCIE stakeholders, and for local, state and federal reports.
Essential Functions: Responds to inquiries for records or data from a variety of internal and external parties (staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or refers the request to other personnel for resolution. Compiles data from a variety of sources for the purpose of complying with financial, legal and/or administrative requirements. Provides assistance to teachers and other CKCIE staff on the timely and accurate collection and reporting of student data. Maintains a variety of student files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and an audit trail so that CKCIE is in compliance with district and state regulations. Prepare a wide variety of reports for the purpose of meeting district, CKCIE and state reporting requirements and the internal analysis of programs, staffing, etc. Provides training to CKCIE and school staff on the special education student reporting system as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district and CKCIE policies and procedures. Understanding of database software/programs including the ability to adapt to custom database systems. Successfully communicate with diverse individuals, including parents and school staff who have little background in data collection and reporting systems and requirements. Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and HIPPA requirements. Successfully meet deadlines for data reporting to local, state and federal agencies and auditors. Manage the use of one's time; including the ability to rank priorities when organizing a work schedule. Work as a part of a team of educational professionals who provide services to students with exceptionalities.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Job related experience in collection, analysis and reporting of high volume, complex data is essential.
  • Job related experience in working in education and/or special education systems is preferred.
Salary: $18.27/hr+ based on qualifications and experience (USD305 Range 17) 12 month position: 260 days; paid holidays, sick leave and 2 weeks vacation. USD305 benefits eligible position
