About the role

Some of the Most Beautiful Conversations Happen in Life's Final Chapter Every life is a book filled with stories, wisdom, and memories. As local seniors reach the end of their journey, what they need most isn't complex—it's connection. We are looking for hospice companion volunteers to bring warmth, dignity, and friendship to seniors in palliative care. How You'll Touch a Life: Share quiet moments—read a chapter of a book, listen to music, or look at old photos. Be an attentive listener for stories decades in the making. Give family caregivers a brief, comforting break.
What You Bring:
  • No healthcare experience required. All it takes is 1 to 2 hours a week, an open heart, and a gentle presence. We provide full training and support.
  • Clearances (Provided Free of Charge): Completion of a background check & reference checks, health screening & testing, and our hospice volunteer orientation & training.
  • Flexible Commitment That Fits Your LifeTime Commitment
  • Typically 1 to 2 hours per week (very flexible based on your schedule).Location
  • Matched with patients living near your home, work, or school.
Schedule: Weekdays, evenings, or weekends—whenever works best for you. If you feel called to share your presence with someone in their final chapter of life, we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure that no one faces this final journey alone.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
