About the role
Systems EngineerCompany: AMS Technologies, LLCLocation: San Antonio, TX (on-site)Clearance: Active Top Secret required. TS/SCI strongly preferred. U.S. citizenship required.About the RoleAMS Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our current cyber program in San Antonio. You will design, implement, secure, and sustain enterprise services across Windows and virtualized environments to ensure mission readiness and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer, deploy, and sustain Microsoft Active Directory services, including GPO, DNS, DHCP, sites and services, and replication.Administer and harden Public Key Infrastructure and Certificate Authority services in accordance with DoD guidance.Design and maintain storage platforms, including provisioning, replication, snapshots, and performance tuning.Build and manage VMware environments, including ESXi, vCenter, templates, resource allocation, and lifecycle management.Implement security controls, patching, and configuration baselines aligned to STIGs and RMF objectives.Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and recovery procedures.Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and execute root cause analysis with clear corrective actions.Collaborate with cyber, network, and application teams to plan changes, conduct testing, and support mission events.Participate in after-hours maintenance windows as needed to minimize operational impact.Required QualificationsActive Top Secret clearance at minimum. TS/SCI preferred.Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.5 plus years of hands-on systems engineering or administration in enterprise or DoD environments.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory and core Windows Server roles.Practical experience with PKI and Microsoft CA, including certificate templates and CRL management.Expertise with storage systems such as SAN or NAS platforms, zoning, and troubleshooting.Proven VMware experience with ESXi and vCenter in production environments.Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell for administration and reporting.Excellent documentation and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsDoD STIG hardening experience and familiarity with RMF.Experience with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.Familiarity with HBSS or endpoint security tools, ACAS or vulnerability scanning, and log aggregation.Relevant certifications such as Security Plus, MCSE, VCP, or similar.Work Environment and ScheduleOn-site in San Antonio supporting Air Force mission operations.Standard business hours with occasional off-hours maintenance or surge support.BenefitsCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Paid time off and holidays.Professional development support and certification reimbursement.How to ApplySubmit your resume with a brief cover note highlighting your clearance level and experience with Active Directory, PKI and CA, storage, and VMware.Equal OpportunityAMS Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
