About the role
A Curie. Bio's portfolio company is seeking a highly organized, entrepreneurial, and hands-on Fractional Business Operations Consultant to build and manage the company's non-scientific operating infrastructure. This is a highly leveraged role for an individual who enjoys being the "Swiss Army knife" of an early-stage company—someone who can move comfortably between finance, contracts, CRO/vendor management, IT, benefits, administration, and general business operations. The Head of Operations will serve as the central point of accountability for the company's G&A and operational functions, integrating work currently distributed across external consultants and service providers. The goal is to create an efficient operating infrastructure that allows the CEO and scientific leadership team to remain focused on advancing the company's R&D programs. This person will work closely with the CEO and scientific leadership while coordinating with external finance, legal, CRO, IT, and other service providers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an environment where priorities evolve quickly and where the role may change as the company grows.
Qualifications:
This company is looking for an experienced operator who has worked in an early-stage biotech or life sciences environment and understands how to get things done with limited infrastructure and resources. The ideal candidate will have: Experience in early-stage biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another highly entrepreneurial environment. Demonstrated experience across multiple business operations functions, rather than deep specialization in only one area. Experience working with CROs and external vendors, particularly around contracts, scopes of work, budgets, timelines, and relationships. Strong understanding of finance and financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting. Experience coordinating with external accounting/finance providers. Experience managing or coordinating contracts with external legal counsel. Familiarity with HR, benefits, IT, and other G&A functions. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with scientists, executives, consultants, and external vendorsA highly hands-on approach with a willingness to tackle both strategic and tactical work.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
