Position Overview KE|AD is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer with a strong background in plumbing and mechanical building systems. This role combines engineering analysis, project management, field investigations, and client interaction. The successful candidate will perform building system assessments, develop repair and replacement designs, manage projects, and support forensic investigations of existing structures. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and assess building plumbing and mechanical systems. Design domestic water, sanitary sewer, venting, and related piping systems. Analyze system performance, code compliance, and repair options. Prepare technical reports, engineering recommendations, and project documentation. Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client communications. Conduct field inspections, investigations, and construction observations. Coordinate with designers, laboratory staff, contractors, and project teams. Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. Mentor junior staff and support business development efforts. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. FE/EIT certification or Washington State P.E. license. 5+ years of experience with building plumbing systems. Knowledge of Washington State plumbing and building codes. Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with clients and team members. Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available). Preferred Qualifications Washington State Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Experience with plumbing system design, renovation, and repair projects. HVAC troubleshooting or forensic evaluation experience. Experience with permitting, budgeting, construction administration, and contractor coordination. Hands-on construction, maintenance, or plumbing experience. Why Join KE|AD?
