Role Description: The Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will support licensed occupational therapists in delivering evidence-based interventions to children in an on-site clinical setting in Surprise, AZ. This full-time role includes implementing treatment plans, facilitating individual and small group therapy sessions, documenting progress, and assisting with evaluations under the supervision of an occupational therapist. The COTA will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to promote functional skills in daily activities, play, and school performance. Day-to-day responsibilities also include preparing therapy materials, maintaining a safe and engaging treatment environment, and participating in team meetings and case discussions. The role requires consistent communication with supervising therapists and families to adjust goals and ensure high-quality, family-centered care.
Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration within pediatric settings. Experience and comfort working with Pediatrics and Early Intervention populations. Ability and enthusiasm for Working With Children in a therapeutic, developmental, and family-centered context. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and eligibility for Arizona licensure. Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Experience in outpatient pediatric therapy, school-based services, or related settings is preferred. Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and ongoing professional development.
