About the role
- Implement speech and language therapy activities as outlined in treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist
- Provide direct support to students or clients in individual and group settings
- Assist with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication interventions
- Collect, document, and report data on client performance and progress
- Prepare therapy materials and organize treatment environments
- Support carryover of communication strategies into classroom or daily environments
- Maintain accurate service logs, session notes, and documentation in accordance with district or organizational requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and other staff as directed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist
- Adhere to all supervision requirements and scope of practice guidelines for SLPAsMaintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Disorders, or a related field
- Valid SLPA license or registration as required by the state
- Experience working with children or individuals with communication disorders preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work collaboratively under supervision
