About the role

Job Description: Furniture Repair Technician
Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour Do you have a knack for fixing things others can’t? If you’re the person who can look at a piece of furniture and immediately start figuring out how to make it better, stronger, and look like new again, we want to meet you! We’re looking for a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to join our team. You’ll use your craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail to repair a variety of home furnishings—from case goods and leather pieces to upholstered furniture and reclining mechanisms. Some repairs happen in our Shop, while others take you directly to the guest’s home. No two repairs are exactly alike, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and seeing the finished product.
What You’ll Do: Evaluate furniture to determine the appropriate repair and parts needed. Repair a variety of furniture, including case goods, upholstered and leather pieces, and reclining mechanisms. Perform detailed repairs such as sanding, filling, burn-ins, color and stain matching, graining, blind stitching, panel replacement, and leather repair. Inspect and install replacement parts. Perform in-home service calls and professionally communicate with guests. Load and maintain a properly stocked service vehicle with tools, parts, and supplies. Complete service paperwork and ensure repairs meet our quality standards. Keep the Shop, racks, aisles, tools, and work areas clean and organized. Assist with training and developing Finisher I team members. Follow all company safety standards and properly use required safety equipment. Answer incoming calls professionally and direct guests to the appropriate department when needed. Pitch in wherever needed to help the team get the job done!
What You Bring: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Carpentry and/or upholstery repair experience preferred. Strong knowledge of furniture construction and reclining mechanisms. Advanced ability to use hand and power tools. Experience with intricate and delicate furniture repairs. Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine the best repair solution. A team-oriented attitude and willingness to share your skills with others. The Physical Side This is an active, hands-on position. You’ll regularly stand, bend, crouch, kneel, push, pull, grip, use fine motor skills, and lift up to 100+ pounds. The position may involve driving to guest locations and working with power tools, electric knives, heated equipment, and repair materials. Work may be performed during day or evening hours based on department needs. Why You’ll Love This Role You’ll get to use your skills every day, solve unique challenges, work with your hands, and make a real difference in the guest experience. If quality craftsmanship matters to you and you take pride in turning “needs repair” into “looks amazing,” this could be the perfect fit. Come put your skills to work and help us win each day!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
