About the role
- Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker preferred - but not required.
- Commitment to safety
- Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
- Capability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
- You have to work at heights! You will fill orders 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
- Ability to work in multiple departments. It's a great opportunity to cross-train and learn new skills!
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
- Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Capacity to effectively work independently of direct supervision.
- Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
- Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
- Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
- Ability to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
