About the role
We're on the search for a Vice President, Ocean Freight on behalf of our client, a fast-growing logistics services organization that combines proprietary technology with best-in-class service. If you have 7+ years of senior sales experience with a track record of success in ocean freight forwarding, this may be an opportunity for you. Reporting to the President, the Vice President, Ocean Freight will be a key member of the team and will lead the development, growth and performance of the company's ocean freight business. The role is responsible for building a differentiated, customer-focused ocean freight offering while ensuring competitive pricing, reliable execution and profitable growth. You will work closely with, and integrate into, the sales team, branch network and client organizations to develop opportunities, design solutions and deliver exceptional service for global and local ocean shipping requirements, including expanding the cross-selling of ocean services to a vast domestic customer base. The ideal candidate is an accomplished ocean freight leader with deep knowledge of containerized shipping, ocean carrier and NVOCC markets, FCL and LCL services, trade lanes, capacity, contracts and rate structures. You know how to buy ocean freight competitively, sell it profitably and lead the operational and customer-service disciplines required to deliver consistently excellent results. With strong carrier, agent and customer relationships, confidence and gravitas, you are a persuasive relationship builder with an inquisitive mindset who thrives in a performance-based culture and instills immediate trust through uncompromising integrity.
