Help Apply accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes to fabricate, cut, assemble, modify and repair various metal and alloy parts typically part of lock and dam facility operating equipment. When necessary, operate chainsaws, winching equipment, etc; perform clean up of recreation areas as required after replacing gravel, etc.; place riprap and replace boat ramps; drive dump, tool, and similar trucks as required for work support. Handle mooring lines and towing cables; assist towboat operator by giving hand signals; operate wench to raise and lower spuds; deck maintenance; keep engine space free of excess grease and oil; splicing of lines; greasing machinery. Perform additional duties such as painting, carpentry work, masonry and mechanical maintenance when necessary.
