Role Description:
The Information Technology Support Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for providing technical assistance to staff and supporting the district’s technology infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include responding to help desk requests, diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues, and assisting users with desktop computers and related peripherals. The role involves troubleshooting network connectivity problems, maintaining accurate records of support activities, and escalating complex issues when needed. The specialist will collaborate with other IT team members to ensure reliable technology services that support instruction, administration, and district operations, while promoting best practices for technology use and security.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills to assist users effectively and manage service requests.
Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting and Desktop Computers skills to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues.
Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of Information Technology concepts to support systems, applications, and basic network functions.
Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical information in an accessible way.
Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple remote support tasks.
Experience providing IT support in an educational or public-sector environment is beneficial.
Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) and coursework in IT, computer science, or related fields are preferred.
