About the role

Consumer Protection And Fair Lending Analyst In this role you help uphold consumer protection and fair lending standards within a state financial regulator. You will lead collaborative examinations, analyze data to support regulatory findings, and translate complex results for non-technical stakeholders. You'll coordinate with exam teams and DFS data groups to ensure accurate, timely analyses and meaningful insights. This position offers the opportunity to influence compliance programs and financial services policy within New York. Responsibilities:
  • Lead team meetings and coordinate cross-functional activities
  • Monitor data progress, perform data analyses and ensure timely delivery
  • Act as liaison between examiners and the CEU data team
  • Support statistical analysis for fair lending and other exams
  • Assist in coordinating consumer-focused examinations and review fair lending plans
  • Verify loan data integrity and analyze consumer protection, fair lending and CRA activities
  • Present results of data analyses to non-technical audiences
  • Test data accuracy and consistency from institutions
  • Travel up to 10% as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Key requirements:
  • Seven years of specialized experience in evaluating compliance programs, reviewing lending and transactions for regulatory compliance, and identifying potentially unfair or discriminatory practices
  • Ability to oversee junior staff
  • Independence and resourcefulness in using tools and information
