About the role

Imperium Construction Services is a growing general contractor and construction management firm specializing in commercial, retail, and fitness interiors. Our leadership brings firsthand experience delivering high-quality projects in demanding environments. We are seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5+ years of superintendent experience who takes pride in running an organized jobsite, solving problems, and delivering quality work. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your projects, work directly with experienced leadership, and grow into a larger field leadership role as the company expands.
The Role: You will lead daily field operations from mobilization through closeout, working closely with the Project Manager and Director to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to Imperium’s quality standards. We’re looking for someone who plans ahead, communicates clearly, and follows through. You should be comfortable directing subcontractors, identifying problems early, and bringing practical solutions to the team.
Key Responsibilities: Own daily site operations: Coordinate subcontractors, field crews, deliveries, and work areas so each trade can perform efficiently. Drive the schedule: Maintain a two-week lookahead, confirm manpower and material commitments, and address obstacles before they affect milestones. Understand the work: Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and approved submittals; identify conflicts and existing conditions requiring clarification. Maintain quality: Verify layout, coordination, workmanship, and protection of completed work. Maintain an ongoing punch list and resolve deficiencies promptly. Lead site safety: Enforce project safety requirements, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite. Communicate and document: Keep accurate Procore daily logs, progress photos, manpower records, and field updates. Promptly report delays, scope changes, and decisions needed. Manage logistics: Coordinate with building management on access, deliveries, shutdowns, noise restrictions, occupied spaces, and off-hours work. Finish strong: Coordinate inspections with the project team and trades, complete punch-list work, and support final turnover and closeout.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or retail interior construction projects. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple trades, construction sequencing, and demanding schedules. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and MEP drawings. Carpentry background strongly preferred, particularly in framing, drywall, and interior finishes. Experience working in NYC buildings and coordinating with landlords, building management, and inspectors. OSHA 62-hour Supervisor SST training required. Working knowledge of Procore; Microsoft Project or other scheduling experience is a plus. Professional communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead firmly and respectfully.
What We Offer: Competitive compensation based on experience. Performance-based bonus opportunities. Health benefits contribution, 401(k), and paid time off. High-profile projects and direct access to company leadership. A collaborative team that values accountability, respect, and open communication. Opportunities to advance into senior superintendent and field leadership positions.
Salary: $130,000 to $175,000 depending on experience.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
