OVERVIEW:
A computer services company in Northwest Houston is looking for a capable inspector in our Tech Lab to support our company's operations. Daily tasks involve various quality control activities to include, but not limited to inspecting computer parts, testing, disassembly, and assembly. This job requires one to be on a computer frequently with a very high level of attention to detail. Previous experience at HP, Flextronics, or Foxconn is a plus. The following includes most daily duties. This is a 1099 Contract position for 90 days. Options to extend contract or hire full time after the 90 days are available.2.
DUTIES:
Inspects units for cosmetic defects and reports findings Analyzes equipment performance and functionality using testing software/hardware Conducts diagnosis of problems Communicates with purchasing over any discrepancies of units Disassembles machines to examine parts, for wear and tear or defects Uses hand or power tools and measuring devices as needed Repairs laptop or desktop units according to requirements Cleans, or adjusts parts to maintain machines' operating efficiency Reads and researches specifications, such as blueprints, charts, or schematics, to determine machine part numbers Learns and uses new processes and procedures Data entry into database to maintain records and assets Maintains general cleanliness of computer lab and equipment Abides by all company safety and hygiene regulations Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager 3.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent 1 year of experience assembling /disassembling, testing, trouble shooting and repairing computers is a plus Experience using small hand power tools required Advanced knowledge of computer hardware Very high level of attention to detail and a team player Must be able to speak, read, and write English Typing by 10 key touch required Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time Must be comfortable working with internet browsers, tabs, and PDF documents Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check Ability to communicate efficiently both verbally and in writing to customers and vendors Company Description FTG has been around since 2006 as a premier provider of aftermarket service solutions to global technology firms, earning a reputation for reliability, quality products, and outstanding service.
