Vocational Support Specialist Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience 401(k) | Health, Dental & Vision Benefits Make a Difference Through Meaningful Work Medical Alternatives, Inc. is looking for a dependable and creative Vocational Support Specialistto work with individuals with traumatic brain injuries in a structured vocational and therapeutic environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, teaching practical skills, and finding ways to make activities meaningful and engaging. You'll help individuals participate in productive work, develop skills, and take on responsibilities that match their abilities, interests, and goals. Candidates with interests or experience inart, music, technology, crafts, or hands-on projectsare especially encouraged to apply. What You'll DoGuide individuals through daily vocational and therapeutic activities Teach and demonstrate tasks based on each person's abilities and interests Provide encouragement, structure, and supervision throughout the workday Assign appropriate responsibilities and help individuals successfully complete them Adapt activities and instruction to accommodate different skill levels Provide direct support with personal and daily living needs when required Assist with warehouse-related activities in varying temperatures and environments Encourage participation, independence, and development of practical skills Help maintain a positive, respectful, and productive workplace What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who is: Patient and understanding Dependable and energetic Comfortable working one-on-one with individuals who have disabilities Creative and willing to develop engaging activities Able to communicate clearly and provide hands-on instruction Comfortable taking initiative while working as part of a team
Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of experience in human services or a related field
Helpful Experience: Teaching or tutoring Vocational training Direct-care or human-services work Art, music, technology, crafts, or hands-on projects
Physical Requirements: This role involves active, hands-on work. Candidates must be able to: Lift up to 50 pounds Provide physical assistance when necessary Participate in warehouse and vocational activities Work in both warm and cold environments as required Why Medical Alternatives?
