About the role
Well-Being Advisor Ripple Effect is seeking Well-Being Advisors to support our client, the Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), who will play a pivotal role in shaping our success on the Ripple Effect support team! Your work will directly impact a coordinated, evidence-informed Well-Being and Resilience Advising Program that includes individualized advising, structured learning opportunities, peer engagement, and targeted well-being strategies for NIH Trainees. You might be a fit for this role if you are a licensed well-being professional who is excited to join a multidisciplinary team composed of those like yourself, program managers, analysts, and operational specialists who are able to provide integrated services. While not an exhaustive list, the key duties for the position include: Lead complex trainee-advising programs by evaluating service delivery approaches, managing operational challenges, and communicating evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders while serving as a recognized subject matter expert in NIH Trainee support services. Deliver structured, trainee-centered advising, tailored to myriad trainees, that includes issue clarification, goal setting, action planning, resource connection, and follow-up, as appropriate. Help trainees address mentoring relationships, laboratory dynamics, career decisions and transitions, self-confidence, work-life integration, time management, communication, conflict resolution, research setbacks, uncertainty, stress management, and resilience development. Facilitate discussion-based shared-learning and peer-engagement sessions in small groups that promote respectful dialogue, guided reflection, peer connection, and practical problem-solving. Connect trainees to appropriate NIH, OITE, or community resources when needs exceed the scope of developmental advising, following established referral and escalation protocols. Tracks and reports on program and trainee progress while maintaining consistency in confidentiality, documentation, and referral practices, and supports internal and client-facing schedule updates in a multi-disciplinary team. Other duties as specified.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
