About the role

Hearing Specialist Responsible for measuring, ordering, fitting, and modifying all types of custom-made hearing devices for patients that may be complicated by several physical, mental, and or medical conditions. Performs basic audiologic testing, provides patient instruction, makes hearing aid ear mold impressions, and performs in-house hearing aid repairs. Performs routine hearing tests on patients of all ages. Uses computer and peripheral equipment to enter demographics and establish baseline and annual hearing thresholds in support of the Army Hearing Conservation Program. Assists audiology staff in the presentation of briefings by providing direct assistance to audiologist in giving briefings and performing otoscopic exams and Hearing Protection Device (HPD) fittings. Provides minor programming adjustments to programmable or digital hearing instruments using hearing aid programming software and proper connecting cables for appropriate manufacturers.
