We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Business Analyst for OxyChem's Basic Chemicals business group, located in Dallas, Texas.
Essential Job Duties: Key point of contact for all financial matters concerning the business/product lines Prepare Segment Earnings results & forward-looking projections, related financial & statistical analysis / variance explanations Responsible for consolidation of annual financial/operating Plan Participate in monthly production planning & system balancing Prepare performance metrics, billing adjustments and other commercial pricing/reporting obligations Review of Sales Contracts and Key Alliance Customer contracts Review of terms, pricing structure, impact to other commercial agreements, identification of supply concerns and preparation of contract economics Key Alliance customers - provide financial input into contract structure, pricing formulas, impact on Oxy supply/demand balance; identify impact to existing commercial agreements and financial risks of non-performance Provide financial support for special information requests from finance and business management teams as required for product line profitability, product integration impacts, asset optimization, project economics Identify and recommend improvements to financial controls within the business areas. Monitor product inventories and coordinate with business teams on achieving optimum levels and financial impacts Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (with a minimum of 18 hours of Accounting) 3+ years of corporate experience in chemicals or manufacturing preferred Strong analytical skills and the ability to do ad hoc analysis and learn on the fly Ability to balance working multiple priorities under tight timelines Knowledge of an ERP system (SAP) and efficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and IBM Planning Analytics (PAx) is very desirable Additional Desired Qualifications: Strong spreadsheet/financial modeling skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal skills MBA OxyChem, a producer of commodity chemicals with facilities across the United States, Canada, and Latin America, is renowned for its commitment to safety, environmental protection, customer service and sustainability.
