About the role
Assembly Lead The Assembly Lead coordinates daily assembly operations to support safety, quality, production, and delivery goals. This position provides hands-on leadership to the team, ensures employees have the materials and resources needed to perform their work, and works closely with other departments to maintain an efficient production flow.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily workflow, personnel, materials, and resources to meet production schedules. Lead by example and ensure employees follow NOV safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Monitor assembly activities to ensure products meet specifications, quality requirements, and customer delivery hands-on guidance, coaching, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) to new and existing employees. Operate and provide technical support for production equipment, including the chopper gun and center carriage. Maintain knowledge of manufacturing equipment, processes, product specifications, and proper machine setup. Inspect parts for thickness, color, cure, visual standards, and specification compliance. Identify quality defects and coordinate corrective actions with Quality, Engineering, Supervisors, and other appropriate personnel. Ensure required raw materials, tools, and supplies are available to support production. Complete inventory checks, material requests, production records, SPC charts, shift reports, and other required documentation housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate production, quality, material, and operational issues to appropriate personnel. Support the team in meeting or exceeding safety, quality, production, and delivery goals. Stand and walk for up to 12 hours while performing bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements. Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Cross-train and support multiple production activities as needed. Travel occasionally, less than 10%, as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous manufacturing experience required; fiberglass manufacturing or assembly experience preferred. Previous lead, supervisory, or demonstrated team leadership experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, work instructions, and production of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and workplace safety procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to troubleshoot production issues and escalate concerns when needed. Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to train and coach employees effectively. Ability to work overtime and various shift schedules as required.
