About the role
Bus Aide - Part-Time Transportation 2026-2027 School Year
Reports to: Director of Transportation
General Summary: The primary job will be to ride the bus and help monitor students.
General Responsibilities:
- Assists the bus driver in maintaining good conduct on the bus.
- Assumes the responsibility of seeing that children remain in their seats.
- Assures that students get on and off the bus in a safe, orderly fashion.
- Provides mild supervision over the children who misbehave, reporting serious offenses to bus driver or the child's teacher.
- Collects and turns over to the school staff those personal items left on the bus by students.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Transportation.
- Must be physically able to assist or remove students from the bus in case of emergency.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.
- Must be able to read and understand written orders and instructions.
- Assist with Securing special needs students in car seats and protective gear as needed
- Assist with cleaning inside of bus
- Prepare seating charts for bus
- Complete monthly student recognitions
- Assisting bus driver as needed
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.
