About the role

The Role: Alexis is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our product development team. The Pattern Maker will translate designer concepts, sketches, and technical specifications into accurate, production-ready patterns while ensuring fit, construction, and quality meet the brand’s standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of garment construction, an exceptional eye for proportion and fit, and the ability to collaborate closely with designers, sample makers, and production teams in a fast-paced fashion environment.
What You’ll Do: Develop first patterns and production-ready patterns from sketches, samples, and designer direction. Interpret design concepts and translate them into technically accurate patterns. Create and adjust patterns for a variety of garment categories, silhouettes, and fabrication types. Make pattern corrections based on fit comments and sample evaluations. Collaborate closely with designers and the product development team to achieve the intended silhouette, fit, and construction. Prepare patterns for sampling and production, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Grade patterns across the required size range and maintain proper specifications. Review garments and samples for construction, proportion, balance, and fit. Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend pattern or construction solutions. Maintain organized pattern files, specifications, and revisions throughout the development process. Communicate clearly with sample makers, factories, and other members of the technical/product development team. Help ensure garments meet Alexis standards for fit, quality, construction, and overall aesthetic.
Who You Are: 5+ years of professional pattern-making experience in women’s apparel, preferably within contemporary, luxury, or premium fashion. Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and production techniques. Experience working with a range of woven and knit fabrics. Strong knowledge of fashion industry standards, pattern terminology, and technical specifications. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a creative product development team. Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with digital pattern-making/CAD software is preferred. Why This Role Matters The Pattern Maker plays a critical role in bringing the Alexis vision to life. From the initial design concept through final production, you will help define how a garment looks, fits, and functions—turning creative ideas into beautifully constructed pieces that reflect the brand’s signature aesthetic. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly influence the quality, consistency, and fit of every collection. Working closely with our design and product development teams, you’ll be an essential partner in solving technical challenges, refining silhouettes, and ensuring each style meets the high standards our customers expect from Alexis.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
