Summary: Blackburn seeks a full-time Project Manager to manage geotechnical engineering projects. This person will work under the Director of Geotechnical Services and senior firm leadership. This candidate should have 8-10 years of experience performing geotechnical services and management on geotechnical engineering projects. This position requires travel to project related sites, project management, cost negotiation, client and public relations, and internal staff management on a project basis. Blackburn provides civil, geotechnical, geo-environmental, construction, and forensics engineering services throughout California with offices in Auburn, West Sacramento, Escondido, Sausalito, and Fresno. We have an extensive geotechnical and materials testing lab in West Sacramento, CA and additional lab capabilities in Sausalito, Fresno, and Escondido. We focus mostly on public works including flood control and transportation. Blackburn has been in business since 1998 and is employee-owned and operated. Technical Duties: Manage budgets and schedules Review and edit reports and calculations Know industry standards specific to Northern California area Solve complex geotechnical engineering problems Interpret plans and specifications Leadership and Managerial Duties: Continuously develop your leadership and managerial skills Communicate with clients, team members, and contractors Understand project scopes and Blackburn’s services Understand and review contracts Understand and manage risk Conduct impactful meetings Manage employees on your projects Identify and resolve project issues, including changes to scope Review and assign project tasks while following deadlines and budgets Essential Abilities: Communicate regularly with staff, clients, partners and subs Handle multiple projects Deliver high-quality projects in a timely manner Edit and write thorough, cohesive reports in the active voice Work well with many personality types Self-starter Technical Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering or similar (preferred) PE license GE license (preferred) 2+ years of management Valid driver’s license Computer savvy (Windows based systems) Physical Requirements: Read, write, and speak English Communicate clearly in person and over telephone Visual acuity to perform job duties Physical ability to bend, reach, stand, walk, sit, push and pull up to 40lbs Blackburn Consulting provides an Equal Employment Opportunity for all applicants and employees and does not discriminate on any basis protected by local, state, or federal laws, including, but not limited to, race, color, religion, sex, gender, origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, military status, or marital status. #J-18808-Ljbffr
