About the role
- This role is eligible for health, medical, retirement, generous time off. I'm conducting a confidential search for a Senior Network Engineer – VoIP / Unified Communications for a highly respected Chicago organization undergoing a significant modernization of its technology infrastructure.
- This is a great opportunity for a hands-on enterprise voice engineer who wants to work in a large, complex, mission-critical environment while helping modernize the infrastructure supporting the organization.
- We are not looking for someone who simply administers phones. We need an engineer who understands enterprise voice AND the network behind it and can independently troubleshoot difficult problems.
- What You'll Work With: Enterprise VoIP / Voice infrastructure
- Avaya or comparable enterprise voice platforms
- VoIP PBXSIP trunking
- Call Center / Contact Center technologiese911, eFax and voicemail
- QoS and enterprise networkingIDF / Data Center infrastructure
- Cisco networking technologies
- 5+ years of enterprise VoIP / Voice Engineering experienceStrong hands-on Avaya or comparable voice platform experienceStrong SIP and VoIP troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of networking and QoS as they relate to voice
- Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve difficult technical issues
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Healthcare experience is helpful but not required
- This is primarily an onsite position in downtown Chicago/Streeterville five days per week. There can be some flexibility based upon business needs, but candidates should not consider this a remote position.
